beyond the lab
I believe a scientist isn't just defined by data. We are defined by how we observe, interpret, and connect. Art and athletics are my other laboratories—the places I hone the intangible skills that make me a more complete researcher.
A complex piano sonata teaches me patience for a long experiment. A strategic badminton match sharpens my problem-solving instincts. Between rhythm and reaction, I learn how creativity fuels precision and, in turn, refines creativity

If research is how I tell stories with data, dance is how I tell them with my body. Growing up with dance taught me a different kind of intelligence: spatial awareness, fluidity, and the confidence to express abstract concepts. It frees my mind from rigid structures, allowing me to approach scientific problems with a more creative and intuitive lens.
Gala HAT 2023 – Musical Performance “Superpowers”
An artist's work isn't always solo. My appreciation for art extends to the complex ecosystem required to bring a large-scale performance to life. This led me to join the Hanoi–Amsterdam Art Team (HAT) as a member of the logistics crew for the 2023 "Superpowers" musical gala.

This wasn't just logistics; it was collaboration under intense artistic pressure. Working with directors and performers, I learned to anticipate needs and adapt in real-time. This experience proved that a flawless show relies on the same principles as a successful experiment: meticulous teamwork, adaptability, and a shared commitment to a precise, final outcome. It's where the artist's discipline meets the leader's responsibility.
